Hi I have a pair of budgie, Romi and Juli.

I recently came to know that Juli is pregnant. All the symptoms are confirming on the same.

Romi is around 5 months old and Julie is 7 months old.
I haven't seen them successfully mating.

I'm not sure if Juli lays an infertile egg and how would be her health post that.

Please suggest what should I do as it's my 1st time with budgies.

Appreciate any suggestions.

She is eating more, drinking more water, her poop is larger than usual... and yes she is a bit aggressive with her toys/food.

Please suggest.

Welcome to the Avenue :)

Very young birds to allow to breed. If she does lay an egg, be sure to remove it.

It would be a good idea to offer veggies rich in calcium, carrots, parsley, dill, kale, sesame seeds. Some sunlight is important too if they are not eating pellets which contain vitamin D3 (needed so the bird can absorb the calcium from the foods they eat) .

I recommend removing the nest box. It will only encourage her to lay eggs. And whether your intention is to breed or not, she is too young right now to be in optimum breeding condition.
You can remove the egg too.

Thank you for the suggestion.

My budgie is eating well. Just wanna known if we can see the egg from outside if she is pregnant? Or does she gained some fat?
If you suspect that she is close to laying be very careful holding her like that. If you crack the egg while it is inside of her it could seriously harm her.
