Hello,

today when I took my baby budgie out of his cage I noticed he was shaking. He is in my room so it not cold and not hot. He was shaking his whole body not just his wings. He still active and chirping. He’s poops look well.

should I be concerned?

I am new to birds and budgie care and I would like to know so I can help him.

By took him out, do you mean held him? If so, this may be the cause.

No I mean opening the cage and him flying outside to his toy.

Does it kind of look like a shiver from top to bottom? If so, all of my budgies do it. They fluff their feathers after preening & if they’re annoyed.

Visual communication among birds may also involve ritualised displays, which have developed from non-signalling actions such as preening, the adjustments of feather position, pecking, or other behaviour. These displays may signal aggression or submission or may contribute to the formation of pair-bonds.

Yes. Okay thank you so much. I’m new to birds and I’m still learning but I am trying my best. I lost a budgie recently because of bloodwork and I’m trying to improve their care as much as I can.
