Budgie possibly egg-bound

Hi everyone

Apologies if I have posted this in the wrong forum - I am new to this site.

I'm hoping someone can help us as we are quite worried. A friend of mine, Jayne, keeps budgies. She has one particular female budgie called Little 'un, that appears to have a growth on it's abdomen. The growth appeared around 5 days ago and stopped growing 2 days ago.The growth now appears to have moved down her body near her vent.

The budgie has previously laid many eggs (the last 10 did not hatch).

If anyone an help or offer any advice to help Little 'un that would be greatly appreciated,please see pictures below.

Sometimes the swollen area is present with eggs, not just binding. But, if it is not budging, that is a sign something is wrong. Egg binding can be fatal and is an emergency. IF she's recently laid 10 eggs she could be low on calcium and exhausted, which can contribute to binding.

Is she showing any other symptoms? Not eating, lethargic, fluffed up, picking at her vent area, laying on the ground, etc. ??

I think a visit to a QAV is probably a real good idea for the little one

She needs to get to an avian vet ASAP. Do you have one or do you need help locating one in your area?

she needs to go to an avian vet asap....if it is not egg binding then it is a tumor....budgies get them remarkably easily...
