Hi, I've noticed my budgie has started to eat her sandpaper that covers the bottom of the cage, I've read about how it can mess with their digestive system and feet so I'm looking for a safe alternative that won't harm her if she does decide to nibble on it.

Newspaper. Why did you have sandpaper in your budgies cage?

Sandpaper is never good for birds. If your bird is chewing on sandpaper that is really bad. They can swallow the grains of sand and it can tear open their crop. Please switch to newspaper that is ink-leak free.

How about moving paper? That's what I use.
