Budgie Behavior?

Hi.
I have a 1 year old budgie boy. He is very happy and talkative. When i first got him, i started training with him to hop on my finger. He was amazing at it. Then all of a sudden he decided that he liked biting my finger, rather than hopping on it and taking the treat. Its as though he got annoyed that he had to jump to my finger for it. Now he just bites whenever he can. He loves millet as well, so i use that to train him. He does get excited when i talk to him through the cage. I just wish i could hang out with him without the fear that he will bite.
Do i just need to continue training him as i was and try ignore his biting and hope he just stops?

Would love the help!

Some budgies will bite out of excitement. Does he seem angry when he does it? Or is he still playful when he does it?

Hes not playfull when he bites. His pupil goes tiny and his feathers flatten. He bites harder than my parents cockatiel.

Sounds like he's expecting some interaction from your finger/hand and he's getting frustrated with it. Have you tried interacting (in a good way) such as a sly stroke of his toes.
I had a male budgie that developed a play friendship with my hand. He'd spend ages beak tapping my finger nails, and I'd tap back. He'd feed my fingers, so I fed him back.
Just see what you can do, within his boundaries.

At those times when you want to offer your finger offer a perch stick he can jump on and bite. Stick training can be a valuable tool for his future.

I also have the same problem. I have what I assume is female budgie, she has been with us for six months. She is hand tamed. 20 days ago she started to change her behaviour. She stopped getting out of cage, and also started to bite my hand. I don't know what this new behaviour means maybe she could be hormonal. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for any grammatical mistakes english isn't my first language

You are best off to make a new thread of your own explaining what you are seeing and need help with. Making your own thread gives you a better chance at getting help.
