Brooding another pair's eggs?

Can a pair of cockatiels "adopt" the fertilised eggs of another? I have a very sweet pair of birds who don't seem to be able to produce fertile eggs but who I think would make really nice parents. They took really good care of the eggs that didn't hatch and have very sweet temperaments. There may be other cockatiel pairs in my area whose owners don't want the baby birds (or maybe not the whole clutch), but have fertilised eggs.

While it is possible if the eggs were laid in your house, it is not likely to work if the eggs were not laid in your house as fertilized eggs can suffer internal damage during travel.

Ah. I thought that might be the case. Thanks, Matthew, for your response.

It's always possible. I have some cockatiels that make beautiful babies but are bad parents. I move their eggs to other nests and sometimes I'll move their chicks to other pairs. I haven't had any rejections yet.

Cool. Thanks for the input. Maybe, if the other pair is from a house really nearby, it can work.

Be sure you're prepared and educated on how to raise the babies yourself should your birds fail to do so.
