Hi, I hope everyone is well during this covid madness. I’m looking for a Pionus. Very hard to find, a lot of the breeder websites I found are no longer working. I sent a few emails, mostly no replies or just no longer breeding. I’m located in Ontario, Canada.
If you breed or know of someone, please let me know.

Birdbreeders.com lists many good aviairies.

Can you contact a local bird club in your area?

Yes, I’ve been contacting around. I have been put on a waiting list with one breeder. Might be longer than I expected. 5 ppl ahead of me. She said only 2 in a clutch usually. :(

Birds don't produce like other pets unfortunately.

I hope you can find one eventually. ;)

I can’t be picky lol. I’d love the bronze winged. The breeder has blued head. White cap is gorgeous too. I like Jardines too. No luck finding except wandering wings. Waiting on her to respond.

Would love bronze winged. Dusky. Hard to find. I wish Homestead Hatchery was still breeding Pionus parrots. Her Duskies look beautiful. What is your Pionus parrot personality like?

My Maxi’s are like most Pi’s, laid back friendly birds. I have one tame, and one not yet :) but he’s trusting me more by the day :) since a few days i can get him to “step up” without flying away :)

Have you tried checking with The AACC Homepage (Avicultural Advancement Council of Canada)? They may have a list of members who breed certain species.
