Yesterday Blizzard passed away.

She was fine and then 2 hours later I went to let the birds out and she was lethargic on the floor of the cage. 10 or 15 minutes later she was gone

Kiwi is doing okay, he’s much quieter than normal but I think he knows what happened.

I glad I was there for her in her last minutes.

I was reading the boards last night, and I came upon Ume's thread in which she offered to paint watercolor portraits of members' birds. While reading that thread and enjoying Ume's beautiful work, I saw the photo of Blizzard, and I was really enchanted by it!

I'm no artist, by any means, and haven't sketched anything in years, but I was inspired to attempt to draw Blizzard from that picture and began to collect some paper and colored art pencils and sit down to start sketching early this morning. When I logged on to AA at my lunch break, I saw this utterly heartbreaking thread!

I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to finish the sketch. It won't be nearly as lovely as Ume's work, but maybe you'll like it? I'll show it to you when I'm finished if that's OK with you.
