I rescued a very malnourished Amazon. Was only being feed peanuts and sunflower seeds. Lost all feathers and eye sight. We have feathers now. Is there anything that might help get some eye sight back.?

Depends on why the eyesight was lost. I know that one patient was prescribed celebrex for some eye issues but again it all depends on why. What did the vet say?

Thought eye sight loss was from being malnourished.

I know in humans that lack of vitamin A can lead to vision problems.
I know lack of Vitamin A can lead to many problems in parrots.
Do not feed vitamin A itself, as too much can be toxic.
Instead feed beta carotenes which are converted to vitamin A or excreted.
Beta carotenes are in carrots, red peppers, broccoli stems, sweet potato, cantaloupe. a great source is red palm oil, but this is very fatty so don't feed gobs of it.
At least it won't hurt anything to have a good diet.

Yes, I've heard too that malnourishment (especially lack of Vit A) can lead to blindness after researching for my almost blind rescue Amazon, Chico. As Debbie (MommyBird) suggested, make sure he's eating plenty of beta carotene (precursor to Vit A) rich foods. Chico was Vit A deficient but despite a much better diet, his sight isn't any better, plus he is now getting cataracts.

Would love to see a pic of your Amazon. What's his name? Do you know how old he is?... ie. how long has he been eating so poorly?
