Birdie Emergency room for a few hours last night.

Big scare last night. My gcc was lunging from the side of my amazon's cage at mattie, they never touched each other but on one of "Misfit"s lunges he fell down before i could get him. he wobbled all over could not use his right foot and he was really stressed. I rushed him to the Emergancy room and right away they first put him in a oxegen cage. After awhile on oxegen They put him under a light Anasteshia for the ex-rays, (sorry about the grammer). The ex-rays came back and there was nothing broken, doc said he may have torn or strained something, the gave him some fluids under his skin and also gave him a Steroid which i'll give him for three days. He looks so sad nt being able to be with his buddies, It breaks my heart to know that he hurts. Thank you for readind my rambling.

He is still very wobbaly, he's having a very hard time getting around. His loud chirps are still soft chirps. I took his buddies over to th carrier he stays in for now and he did get excited for about 2 seconds.

I know! It's funny to think that a little conure going after a amazon many times his size. not only that but My amazon "Mattie" is scared to death of Mifit.

Thank you so much. Misfit IS eating a little seed but alot of Grape, thats his favorite. His name Misfit came when we bought his two sisters and not him, a month later he was still there so we got him and because noone else bought him we named him Misfit.

If he appears to be in a lot of pain, you could ask your AV what they think of some Meloxicam (Mobic) It is an NSAID (Non-steroid anti-inflammitory drug) like Motrin and Aleve. and therefore great for both inflammation and pain. And fid safe.

Hi Jadesmom, i did ask about the other stuff but they recomended the Prednisolone Suspention, 0.03mls twice a day for three days.
