I posted previously but now it’s getting serious and I need help
My budgie has been puffed up the past two days. I thought she was cold as it’s winter, she was still eating playing and drinking. She just wasn’t as lively.
I got more worried today as she still hasn’t perked up. Now she has just thrown up a lot. I will try to contact a vet soon but what are some things I can do now? Please help image.jpg

Aw poor baby she really does look as if she doesn't feel good. Do you have a local emergency vet you could try to get her into sooner?(wasn't sure if your above statement ment a vet who'd be open in the morning)

Tonight there isn’t any open, we are hoping to get her in in the morning but we’re not sure if they take walk ins. Most places aren’t open until Monday because of thanksgiving. I’m hoping to get her in tomorrow.

Very very very serious, please do get help tomorrow.

Extra warmth is so important, even if it's turning your heat up , I have turned my heat to 78 , to try and help. But i have a radiant bird heat panel called the sweeter heater. I recommend to all bird owners to have a safe supplement heat source in hand , before you ever end up with a sick bird , it's that important.

I would put a large empty food dish , that she could fit in if you have . They often can't perch well . I've put a sick budgies in a food dish with millet , just to try and keep them comfortable and with food readily available Incase they will pick at it . Also our a tiel in bottom of cage . Incase she can't perch and falls , or decides to move to bottom of cage do to weakness m

You can try and have a heat pad on the outside of the cage , as she isn't going to chew something on the outside as such a sick little budgie. But you don't want to melt anything or start a fire , and I don't recommend leaving heating pads unattended over night. You absolutely wouldn't ever set a sick bird in a heating pad . As they can get burned easily and can't move away when so sick . I'm talking setting on outside or side of cage.

There isn't much else you can do , she is probably to sick to try and eat any favorites. But I would put a millet spray next to her anyway just in case.

Is her vent swollen? Has she laid an egg before? Has she had a messy butt ?

Im just so sorry, your sweet one is very sick . Sending love, and pray you can get her seen tomorrow

Thank you for the advice and kind words
She’s never laid an egg before and her vent looks normal to me. She does have a heater but I don’t think she understands how to use it. I can try putting her in a plastic food container obviously lid off. I will put millet in there too. Thanks again

Hello everyone here’s a bit of an update, we got her into a vet and she is staying there for a couple of hours, they have her on a feeding tube and he’s going to get some water in her too. She did not like being checked out, she was squawking like crazy! Anyways, he acted like she was going to be okay and said we will get antibiotics.
