Does anyone know of a vendor that does custom bird bands? Henri is learning to fly and I’d like to replace her breeder band with one that has my contact info. I know it needs to be about 11mm and made in stainless steel or aluminum.

Yes. @Matto sells split bands :)

edit;
I think he has a minimum order of 15, but you could order 15 and keep the others as spares.

Just so you know, people have very strong and varying opinions on open bands on parrots, especially large ones with strong beaks such as amazons. You just have to be careful that the band does not get caught on anything. When dealing with a parrot the size of an amazon, you could have a microchip implanted in the bird similarly to how it is done with dogs and cats.

A microchip?! Really?! And what if she has a band now from the breeder and doesn’t mess with it?

Both my birds are microchipped. Cost about £50 for the chip and the insertion. My vet gives them a little whiff of anaesthesia to make inserting the chip easier and to ensure accurate placement. The chip details are stored on a national database along with my details. Anyone scanning the chip will be able to access my contact details.

A microchip can’t be removed and is no where near as dangerous as an open band.

I had the bands removed from my amazons. They didn't mess with them but I didn't want them to snag them band on a toy while we were away from home.

Not worth the risk.
