Bedtime at Sunset questions

So I can get my family to dim the lights at 4 PM and let the birds experience the dusk naturally. I get home around 5 and it's getting pretty dark. Is it okay to turn the lights back on (not all 24 of them ) so that I can clean up and the birds can come out and play? Or will it mess up their system more than it does when they do not experience a natural sunset?

That is a good question. My thought would be that it would throw them off but maybe someone else who knows better than me can help you out.

mmmm well what you can do is have a timed dimmer? and lower the lights to a level you are comfortable in cleaning up with.

Can you cover them with a dark sheet?

You cannot turn the lights back on and you cannot use a dimmer that will make it twilight for hours and hours. The twilight needs to be completely natural, go into night and stay night or it doesn't work.

How does it work if you live some place like Alaska?
