Are beak trims something that EVERY bird needs to get at some stage? Or are beak trims just something that might be needed to some birds?

Not all birds need them. Birds with scissor beak, birds with certain illnesses, birds who don't keep them down themselves need them but many birds go their whole life never needing a trim.

@Mizzely has to have Ripley's beak trimmed from time to time I believe.

I would say most birds don't need them, especially if they chew. Ripley does have a Scissor beak which usually requires frequent trimming, but he chews so much that I only need to have it done yearly usually instead of every 3-6 months like some other birds do.

My green cheek was 7 when I lost her and never had a beak trim.

My green cheek was 17 never needed one. My current girl is 10 never needing one yet.

There are some out there that do need...usually health, nutritional, conformation, past injuries

Walter never needed his beak trimmed until he became a senior bird. I think it is because he is less active now and prefers chewing on softer wood now that he is older. He typically needs it about every 6 months or so.
