Hi.
I got 2 lovebirds yesterday, this is the younger of the 2, and theyre legs seem to be a bit wider than the older ones. Is this just because of age? or could it be splayed legs?
(The older one is seen on the right of the second picture)

Q-- are you giving them proper nesting materials-- wood chips, etc? Sometimes the paper towels are slippery.
When you pick them up bodily, how do they hold their legs underneath. While holding up, offer your finger-- do each of the feet grasp equally?

i use the proper wood chips from my local pet store, and they sleep in a knitted nest that they love to huddle up in, their enviorment is filled with tractionable stuff so to speak.

I believe this is young enough to fix. I'd consult a vet and/or experienced breeder, even of other parrot species.

Thanks. I've contacted the breeder i got them from, hes been breeding lovebirds for 3 years. And will hopefully go for a checkup at the vet.
