If there is no parent bird around you should care for it until the rain stops and see if the parents return to look for it.
If they don't return after a while you should take it in and consider calling a wildlife center.

Take it in, get a box and put some towels in the box. I was told that when I found a baby last summer. You probably know all that. Tend to its immediate need for safety and warmth. Look for the nest it fell from at daylight and do call a wildlife rehab. Thank you for caring.

put in in small box lined with paper toweling. this baby is too small to be out of the nest. you can tell be the corners of it's mouth. if the corner of it's mouth is thin yellow line, less then 1/6th of the entire beak, it's old enough to be out on it's own. that baby's mouth is more then that. keep the box you put it in dark and quiet if possible. look for the nest and replace the baby. watch your head because the parents may dive bomb you because you have their baby.

Thank you helping this baby! do you have any baby bird formula? if so, mix to "applesauce" consistancy and feed from a small straw cut to look like a tiny spoon, see attached pic. Formula should be warmed to about 102 to 104 F. Scoop it up and when baby gapes, stick it in his mouth, he should grasp it, take the food off and swallow. Feed till the crop is almost full, any wildlife rehab should take him, or an emergency 24 hour vet that transports to local rescues. IMG_20150515_173903.jpg

Thank you for the advice you guys, but maybe I'll have better luck next time. Unfortunately this little one hit the ground so hard something ruptured internally. I knew something was wrong by the small amount of blood on the beak so I took it to the vet. She looked in its mouth and there was no saving the little baby. I wish I could've done more but there was nothing to do...
