Hi, everyone!
We recently adopted a 24 year old B&G from another poster on Avian Avenue! We've had Sarah for a few weeks now, and I wanted to give everyone an update. We took her to the vet shortly after adopting her, and the vet discovered a HUGE abdominal mass, and her bloodwork showed distress in her kidneys. They did an x-ray of the mass, but wanted us to come back for an ultrasound. We recently had the ultrasound done, and it does appear that the mass is operable. The vet is going to remove her uterus (where the mass is located), but she is expected to make a full recovery! We also had her overgrown bottom beak trimmed down, and she has been obsessively chewing just about everything she can get her beak on now. Well, everything except her toys lol.
