Thank you very much for your advice, appreciated.I wouldn't worry about the beak just yet. Baby birds have softer beaks than adults, it may be something the bird grows into, and it should change shape some as it matures. At this age, they are just eating machines. If it is still a problem, a knowledgable groomer can help reshape it after he is fully weaned and a little older. Your best bet for cleaning is just a damp washcloth. Since he isn't fully feathered yet, make sure you use warm water so he doesn't get a chill. Make sure the room is warm and free of drafts as well. If there is dried food on him, you'll just have to work on it slowly and it may take a few tries to get it all softened up enough to come off. If you're too aggressive cleaning it, you may pull out feathers or damage the growing follicles. You don't want to give your beautiful baby bald spots that never fill in.
Thank you now i can be at alittle ease..was worried about thatnow just to get him/her cleaned upHere are some baby macaw photos for you to compare to:

What advice have you been given by the person you bought this baby from? What are you keeping it in, what formula are you feeding it, how much do you feed each time, what temperature are you feeding the formula at, are you using a syringe? Can you do a video of you feeding the baby? Any and all photos of how you are presently caring for it will help in giving you advice because we don't know exactly what information you are looking for.Any advice on caring for a baby macaw will be much appreciated they said he/she maybe about 3-4weeks old..any advice on that?
Yes i have handfed a chestnut macaw beforeHe will grow into the bottom beak. Nothing appears out of shape to me.
What are you feeding him and have you handfed before?
Make the formula as the label states. Too thick and you can give him yeast infections, too thin and he doesn't get even nutrition. The formula should be an applesauce consistency. Make sure it is about 105 degrees, use a thermometer. Too cold and yeast will develop too hot and you will cause crop burn. He should eat 10% of his body weight per feeding about 4 times a day. You need a scale to weigh him. Weigh him in the morning when his crop is empty and after his first poop of the day. Keep him warm and ask as many questions as you need.
