Phew! Glad to hear it
He is starting to get this way. Which from the timid scared of everything bird we brought home is actually a good thing....
I am hoping that he just nailed her with a warning stay away bite and not a full out one. I am most concerned with the eye. I hope she does not lose it. It looked really funny, and I am afraid that when he got her, that it is where he "snaggle" tooth went.
Pooka will want to preen Sophia or the macaws, or start shoving himself in front of them wanting them to preen him. When they don't comply, he gets annoyed and then may try to give them a pinch. He was badly bitten by one of the macaws years ago, and we never even knew until I went to pat him hours later and found a large hole in his side. The difference between my house in yours is that my pushy little Napoleon bird is the smallest bird in the house, and poor Astrid is teeny compared to Ducky.
I think it was a combination of things. 1) He is familiar with the cage. It was his not that long ago. 2) Opportunity. The twins opened the door for him to go right in 3) His discovery of flying. He is learning he is capable of doing it. Its still "startles" him when he does. But he it does not fully freak him out anymore. Those all came together to form this accident. I am just thankful it was not worse!Poor girl, I'm glad she is ok. I wonder what Ducky was thinking!
