Hi! I’m new to this forum and to bird keeping.
I have a cutie cockatiel and I’m wondering if my watercolor paints are safe to use in the room next to her room. I would be using it on wood for a gift for someone, so she won’t be in contact with any of the supplies.

thanks!

Watercolors are safe as long as the bird doesn't come in contact with them. If you use something stronger though (like acrylic), something that puts off smells, it's best to do that in another room.

Depending on where you are located, and the time of the year, it could be a good idea to have a fan sitting in an opened window to blow any fumes outdoors. The fan in the window will help to pull any possible fumes out of the house far more rapidly than just opening a window would. I do not know much about paints, so this may not be necessary, however it certainly could not hurt as long as your bird is not able to get to the fan/window.
