Are mealworms okay?

I have a bottle of freeze dried meal worms that I bought for my turtle (who recently passed away), so I was reading the packaging and it says it's okay for birds, reptiles, and fish. I let my GCC have a little bite and he wanted more so he enjoyed it. Is it okay for me to give him a few every day as a little treat or something?

I think they're fine, but treat them as you would any other high protein/fat treats like meat and dairy. Feed very very sparingly!

They are usually meant for insectivorous species of birds such as many of the softbills, but they are fine as a treat.
