I saw this and thought I may get one. I believe it may be a bit cheaper on Amazon. Its been a few weeks since I looked I want to say about $45ish. I have a spinning metal one I got for my cockatiels (they were not intrigued) So I moved to Alberts cage and he has ignored it. But I have only had him about a month and I am questioning how many toys he may or may not have had in his last home as he is starting to play a bit more. He is my first Macaw and first bird that hasn't loved toys right off the bat. I thought this was neat though and may get one.

I bought it.
Will update when Burt receives it and has had a chance to use it. I am hoping it might just make him forget about the cage screws

Oh wow! Keep us informed!

This sounds like a toy for those cockatoos that undo their cages also!

Thankful for the ornery amazon I live with.

How neat! I'll bet Burt can figure it out. He's such a smart boy! Buzzard prefers to bash his toys open & that toy looks like cheating won't work.

Burt got his Elewaiter delivered today.

I loaded it up and put it in the cage, he was unimpressed with it till I showed him there was a nut in it

Not sure if it’s a winner yet but will update as he becomes more familiar with it. I did hear him turning the handle to open it but I haven’t yet checked if he was actually opening it or closing it lol.

Argh!!!

Burt also got a goodie gadget which he managed to work out how to open, empty and also detach from his cage within minutes of it being attached :bored:

So far Burt definitely knows the elewaiter goes up and down and it has treats in it but he has not managed to remember which way the turn of the handle drops the drawer and which way raises the drawer back into the casing. He is keeping himself rather busy with it though as he loves the threads on screws and this thing has a monster sized threaded rod on it.

For the goodie gadget I think I will definitely have to alter the back of it so the wing nuts can't be reached by Burt- I am honestly shocked they have been made the way they have. I am a little bummed out by what you think you can fit inside it till you realise there is a rod that runs through the middle of the whole thing- probably fine for sunflower seed or something similar

Woohoo!! 9 days of use and Burt access and it is absolutely fine!
Burt uses it a few times each day and has definitely worked out which way to turn the handle to make the drawer drop down, opening it up is no longer a case of 50/50 luck- he opened it enough to get a peek at what was in there this morning then went straight to the handle and turned it fast then straight back to the drawer that had dropped further down.
I am pretty sure Burt reckons the Elewaiter should miraculously refill after he empties it and winds it back up, he seems to get wee bit annoyed the second time round that it is totally empty lol.

I have to say that so far it is a winner :)
