What would you use the aluminum ones for? (I know you would take one or the other).

If it's just to drag them around, I would consider something else as the aluminum cages can get heavy. If it's to use for a travel of a few days as a temporary cage, I would suggest going one size up for your Pionuses.

The aluminum ones are actually very light. I got to pick one up at a bird fair. I want to sell my poquito hotel as it is way too heavy and get something lighter.
They would be for trips outside, to the vet, and probably for the drive down to CA.

I have one (the size up though) and I avoid it for short stints..it does start to weigh in the long run.

But if you would be using it to travel or move, I would definitively want the aluminum versus the Plexiglas one. But I would go a size up.

I have both those carriers. I don't like the
acrylic one as well as the aluminum. The door doesn't seem to fasten as well. I love the aluminum one. My brownhead travels in it and my lorikeet travels in the acrylic one. My CAG
has the Wingabago. I highly recommend the aluminum.

The acrylic one is actually made by Caitec (the same company who makes Featherland cages). I've seen them in person and I thought the quality was pretty decent but definitely not comparable to a King's aluminum one.

I have the acrylic cage for Simba and he hates it ! He has no where to hang on the sides of it. He likes to cling to the cage bars and he can't with the glass. I ended up getting him the flying south one. I think you sent me the link. :D I'll sell you my acrylic one :)

I have the medium Aluminum one for Nala and I love it. Its the perfect size for a GCC for a few days of travel and I will be ordering another at some point in the near future for Skittles as he will have enough room in there as well.

I might have to get two medium aluminums for the move. I'm going to start saving now.
