Hi; so I got a medium prevue pet products playstand for a conure and the vast majority of the perches/poles are dowel perches which I know isn't very good for their feet compared to natural wood ones. Is there a way where I could sand it to make it more uneven/tree branch like or something to put it over to make it more rough?

Yes. You can wrap it unevenly with sisal rope (not always suitable depends on bird or perch placement) or you could take a knife to it to remove chunks here and there so the surface is made different diameters along the length.

I carefully took a Stanley knife (box cutter) to mine then wrapped them with vet wrap. My flock loves them and we've never had a case of bumblefoot.

You can ziptie natural perches to dowels on a play stand
