Any tips for durable parrot toys?

Yes I can. It’s just that he usually isn’t this difficult to acclimate to new toys, so 1m for a few hours has been enough. I guess this one really scared him for some reason. He has a looong history of abuse, so I get anxious whenever he shows intense fear of certain objects in case they remind him a trauma or something.

I believe wood cut with the grain is harder to destroy than wood cut against the grain. Check through this list from Seriously Nutz. The wood cut with the grain toys are more challenging for my cockatoo. She can destroy wooden toys fairly quickly once she gets over her fear of new ones but this one from SN is taking her a long time. If you want toys that last forever then go with stainless steel (Blu's..link already posted) or acrylic toys.
