so I have a female green cheek conure who's 4 months old. she's super playful yet calms down easily. she seems very happy and is eating healthy. she also loves coming out of her cage to chill with me and my family, and I'll put her back in her cage for about 30 minutes so I can focus on chores and such. but ever since I got her, she's been really grumpy and mean at night. it starts at about 7 or 8. she gets all nippy and loud, and if I try to take her out to calm her down, she just keeps biting me. now she'll still go on my hand and get out of the cage, but like I said she just keeps biting me and making those angry squawks. I might be over reacting, but I just wanna know what's going on with her. again, it's only at night. the rest of the day she's on awesome behavior and is super sweet and adorable, and let's everyone see her. is it just hormones or is she a bit too young?

I don't know much regarding conures, but I know my two get super grumpy and irritable with each other about 30 mins before they go to bed. It's usually as they try to find the best sleeping spots they nip and beak at each other. They are like sleepy toddlers!

What are her sleeping arrangements? Do you cover her up? Does she get peace and quiet when she goes to bed? If she's in the family room and everyone is watching TV for example, she's not able to sleep. Could it be that she is ready for bed at that time but doesn't get the ideal sleeping conditions she needs? If she gets like this I'd just let he go to sleep for the night and stop interacting with her as she is sending the signals that she doesn't want to socialise at that time.

Is it possible she's ready for sleep ? My gcc doesn't mind staying up late but some say their birds want to go to bed early

As @Khizz said, my cockatiels get super grumpy when it’s bedtime. I don’t know if conures are the same, but my birds get mad when I don’t put them to bed on time.
