An End to An Era

Today I just dropped off Bowie's old cage to a parrot shelter 30 minutes away. It was the cage Bowie came in when we adopted him. It was so emotionally difficult to do, to drop the cage off. But I really hope the shelter can use it. We thought about filling the cage with another parrot friend, but decided against it when we thought Erwin would need surgery on his foot. The avian vet is monitoring the lesion for now and he may need surgery (surgical amputation of a toe).

Anyways, maybe we'll get another cockatiel one day, but not right now.

I miss Bowie every day. It has gotten easier, but I still miss him.
