A little girl, cute! She will calm down with patience, love and understanding I am sure. Have you never had untrusting birds before? I know she is not with you but wondered:)

Odd that the cere is so brown and she is probably hormonal in such a stressful time. My girl also had a brown cere and was not as terrified the first few days as she was basically starved, black poops etc. Now she has a very light blue cere usually. Maybe it is also influenced by stress but haven’t found anything to support that, usually in stress it ‘should’ turn the non-breeding colour from what I have read.

I did had a quaker for a short period who would have rather killed me than let me near him :roflmao: budgies are a little less scary -I don't feel like that beak can do quite as much damage.

She's just so quick to go into panic mode, I'm afraid she's going to hurt herself.

If others are seeing girl from those pics, lets go with that :roflmao: I do agree that it looks brown, actually somewhat deceptively brown. I dont think it's quite the broody brown, more realistically a tan like you said.

Cere colour isn't always going to tell you hormones. Sunbeam is practically egg laying and her cere is still white with some light tan "blushes".

They'll try and tell you otherwise ;)

I honestly find with shy birds just step back. Feed, water, and clean, then just be a nonthreatening presence. It's possibly these two used to be aviary birds so they probably dont really know people.

Difficult to tell from the pic but I would speculate female.

This. Give it time. Talk gently and make no sudden movements. Sit a small distance from the cage and just let her get used to your presence. Time and patience...
