Hi! I have a 6-month old alexandrine
Usually he grooms himself and I’ve seen him calm but today he was scratching some parts of his feathers really fast and intensely that it made me think he might have lice or something? ( he hasn’t had a bath it’s really cold in my country now )
And I can’t check him since his not yet tamed , I called the vet but they are very busy and it might get some time

I have read if you put a white sheet over the cage at night and in the morning if there are any black or red specks on the sheet then your bird might have feather mites.

if you have hsd him awhile and he hasn't been in an outside aviary exposed to wild birds or other birds....its more rare to have external parasits.

Is there anything he could hsve gotten into? To get some sort of irritant on him? Any sprayed chemicals or cleaning agent?
Had you just cleaned his cage with anything?
