My 3 month old pineapple conure gets a little crazy before bedtime and if we go to his cage and try to interact with him, he will squawk loud and lean away. He also lifts his wing and kind of hides under it. The sounds he makes can be best described like a monkey. If you try and touch him he will bite. It is so weird. I may have to post a video sometime. We have just learnt to leave him be after 7pm to get snuggly and tuck him in at 8pm.
The last couple of days, he hasnt let me handle him when I get home from work in the early afternoon and is doing the same monkey business. He has bitten me very hard. I give him a snack thinking he's hangry and it doesnt even help.
Do other people's conures get kind of crazy like this before bed? I'm thinking he just had a bad night's sleep and he's over tired. I'm hoping that. He's usually so nice.
