I just wanted to end this thread with news that I just got back from my vacation, and the petsitter was great! Luna did bite the sitter on Day 3, so she was gave him some time to adjust to maybe the stress of a new person in his space but let him out again on Day 6. She played music and read out loud to them 
and, I think, did an even better job than me at providing them treats and cleaning the cages and room. Overall, things went smoothly and Wally has already forgiven me for being gone 
I should have looked into a professional sitter a long time ago!
