That's great that the asper test came back negative. It is not something you want in your life.

Sometimes the bug that is infecting them is not sensitive to the antibiotic used, so a change is necessary. If you run into have a hard time getting an infection to die with the antibiotics being used - ask for a culture and sensitivity test.

Glad she's getting better.

Hi! I just wanted to let you all know that Merlin's asper PCR test results finally came back -- NEGATIVE. What a relief. While were waiting for the asper results, the vet put him on two antibiotics at once, one oral and one as nasal drops, and in the past 10 days his symptoms have basically totally gone away!! No more sticky breathing or sneezing fits. So I think we can say the mystery has been solved and this was a very stubborn bacterial infection somewhere in his respiratory system. Don't know why the other two courses of anti-biotics didn't work, but I'm not complaining!

@Hankmacaw and @Azor - Thank you both so much for all your advice!
Thank GOD, what antibiotics? My bird haven't got much better we have ANOTHER visit next Monday. Did they find bacteria?, Im losing all confidence in my vet but there are no other vet specialised in birds in my area.
what kind of bacteria?

She is flying an acting almost normal all day, but at night she gets the same symptoms. Like Clockwork, i want the vet to do a endoscopy in her nare/sinus. But my vet tells me this is not possible with so small birds (budgerigar), i want them to localise the mucus and take a sample and also do a deep clean, I'm sure humanity has the technology for it. We can do brain-surgery...
