Hi. I'm new to the forum and sad to say that my first post in about a concern. My Sunday Conure, Ruffles, is a little over 3mo old. I've been supplementing his birdie food with fresh fruits and veggies, all organic. Yesterday I accidentally fed him non organic strawberries. I only realized this morning when I saw I pulled them from the wrong package! Does anyone know how serious this might be?:eek:

Did you have a chance to wash the strawberries first?

Just wash all fruits and veggies thoroughly, organic or not. Some people think they don't need to wash organic but just remember people who grow them often use manure or compost as fertilizer. Those aren't good to eat either:)

I dont feed any 'organic' produce. Never had a problem.

There's no need for panic, I'm sure that Ruffles will be fine :)

My birds have eaten washed "regular" strawberries before. They're fine. :) I think the worry is if it's fed in abundance.

At least Ruffles ate the strawberries! I gave Titus some and he snubbed it entirely. Crazy bird, I could have eaten that lovely, juicy, non-organic strawberry.
