I feel bad for Rupert. It is painfully quiet in the bird room, without Sherbie's voice, and I don't think Rupert has ever known a single day of being a solitary bird. He's been flock calling a lot today.

Secret had a hard time, too. It was super tough to show Secret MC's little body after he passed away but I was told they needed to see to process that they were gone.

I probably should have done that with Rupert, even though the closest they'd been was when I had Rupert in one hand, and reaching to pet Sherbie with the other. Sherbie was too aggressive for anything closer, but it was cute hearing them both make their little contented noises back and forth. It was almost like a conversation.

Don’t feel badly about not showing the body. I never have shown my other pets post-euthanasia. They might not understand. It’s a very personal choice with no right or wrong.

Didn't Sherbie pass at home?

MC wasn't home at the time he passed. He had come and gone from the vet several times.

MC and Secret did opera together but they were never close to each other (I'd have been scared stiff for fear of them hurting each other).
