Wife was pre-heating the oven...and the smoke detector went off...a small bit of whatever was there before got boiled out and got burned. After the crisis was rectified, I walked back into Milton's room...

Milton: "WAT HAPPENED?"

Me: We had a little mishap with the stove, Bird...

Milton: "OK?"

Me: Yes, everything is fine now...

Milton: "DAT GOOD"....

The dreadful smoke detectors...they are so sensitive now a days that mine goes off if the dog passes wind.

Thank your lucky stars Milton isn't a grey. I'll bet he'd've picked that sound up for sure!

Yes...Greys are very well-known for picking up smoke detector noises!

Milton already has a dislike for the weather radio alarm, which is also located in his bedroom...his response to that going off is something like "OOOEEEOOOOOEEEEOOOEEEE...PRETTY PRETTY BIRD"....

Sigh :banghead:....I have a grey...and guess what?? Yep you guessed it.
" Beep beep beep, fire fire!! Beep, beep beep.fire fire!"
I don't have to tell you how annoying that is from the super sensitive detector from a little cooking...even more annoying when grey grey gets going too.

I hope it didn’t upset him too much, but it does sound like he really took it in stride!

Penny has her sort of smoke detector sound as well as the microwave beep. She actually beeps when the door is shut before the microwave beeps as she knows the beep is coming...They are so smart///

We finally replaced the detector that goes off every time we cook and a little crap burns off the burner. It also would just randomly go off at 2 am because it could. They use particle detection now I think so a bit of dust goes by the optical sensor and it thinks it's smoke and goes off. We got a pair of 10 year CO2 and smoke detectors at Costco and I finally put one up after that thing went off randomly again and so far no random false alarms. It actually talks and will say where it is and what level of smoke or CO2 it has detected as it said what it was during the test after I installed it. Hard to get back to sleep after having one go off at 2am without laying there thinking maybe you missed something or it was going to do it again.
Dobby supposedly was good at imitating Momazons Phone and microwave but he hasn't made too many beeps while here though sometimes you can tell he's trying.

Everytime I get a notification for this thread I keep hearing the title set to the tune of Mambo No 5: "A little bit of Milton in my life, a little bit of Sunny by my side..."

:laughin:

(hope this reference makes sense across the pond?)

I know the song, it was a lot of fun. I checked Google just to make sure and yep, it's the one I remember so most here should know it, though they may not know the title.
