Welcome! Unfortunately, without letters I can not see how anyone would be able to help.My moluccan cockatoo has a split ring on left leg but only #s 239. Can you help?
Check https://www.911parrotalert.com/ and alert your local shelters and vet offices.A parakeet was found with a leg band with PET US1 67073. Trying to locate an owner without a database is nearly impossible. Thank you for your time.
You could also try looking for lost pet ads on websites such as Facebook or Craigslist.A parakeet was found with a leg band with PET US1 67073. Trying to locate an owner without a database is nearly impossible. Thank you for your time.
No not, really. Are there no directories at all for bird bands?
Welcome to the forum.Well, I rescued a Grey a few months ago... I will never know his real age
There never really was a central database for leg bands. Why, I don't know. They are mostly to track sales.Well, I rescued a Grey a few months ago. I was told he was 3, vet says older than 10. I reached out to who I believe the breeder may be... (WS NYS) no response yet, and I find out from reviews of this store that they buy older parrots and then rebrand them as younger. The ID’s are completely protected between the breeder and store to not have any real identifiers. Maybe that’s why all the databases are disappearing! Massive corruption going on here. People want to be able to sell African Greys, Cockatoos, and Macaws for ridiculous prices, need them to be younger!
I’m kind of grossed out. I will never know his real age!
Possibly Beverly's Exotic Birds in Florida.I’m looking for some help! I rescued a cherry headed conure who is approx 28 years old. I’m trying to find the breeder but the band initials aren’t on the list. Her band reads FL BEB 20. I gather they’re in Florida. Any ideas on the breeder? Thank you!!
[/QUOTE]Hi!
Yes it was aplenty parrot aviaries. The lady did provide my.husband with a hatch date as well.
QUOTE="SpecialistElbru, post: 2604035, member: 15935"]Which breeder was it? Was it Parrots Aplenty? If you have verified information we would like to add it to the main list.
Did you get a hatch date? Even if under 40, I would like to confirm or deny my hunch on a now-so new band.
Edit: grammer/ fixed bad cut&past
A lot of bird breeders from 10+ years ago are sadly no longer in business.Sure wish this woman was still in business, my bird comes from there.....
