Hi friends! I've not posted in years!
:bliss:

Thought I'd introduce our beloved boy, Tuna.

We've recently decided to again live the land life in NSW Australia. Prior to that he's spent a few years of his life with us living aboard our yacht. Our little "pelagic parrot."
As such, we commend him as he's experienced quite a lot, for a parrot... everything from fresh coconuts, to even meeting a humpback whale.
He is such a tolerant, special, & gentle character. We are so lucky to have him.

Later this year, we plan to buy a house that we can really settle into - and we plan to build an aviary.
Starting the research for not only designs, but materials and components that we'd like to incorporate.

Usually we get our parrot people social fix on instagram, but I've not been super active there as of late.

So! Any caw parents on here in Aus?

- In terms of our Aviary planning - Recommendations for stainless steel suppliers, components you find helpful?
- What are your favourite parrot supply shops/go to's/anything!
- Introduce your macaw to us!

Talk birdy to me.

Tuna is beautiful. What an amazing life he's had. Is he fully flighted or clipped?

I'm not in AU. USA here. I have an aviary for our 3 parrots (B&G Macaw, CAG & a U2). I highly suggest a swing, a boing, and or an Orb, maybe a cargo net. Lots of perches of various types & sizes. Several hanging toys, hung up high & lower along the sides close to perches. Food & water dishes. I only use water dishes, as the darn bees were after the food & stung my B&G Macaw once & I had to rush her to the vet.

Thank you! We think so.
He is fully flighted, haha he flies like a jet!

That is awful about the bee sting - great point! We’re lucky here as we don’t really have wasps/bees that are attracted by food (just flies :depressed:) but bugs are a great thing to think about. We’d love to maybe build him a giant orb, that would be really cool!
