That's just a feather that was broken, probably during play or a odd landing.
It's nothing to worry about.
If you look closely at her, you'll probably find the other part of it still on her.
Babies do break feathers, they are so rough and tumble when playing.
Thank you!
The root is still there and there’s another that looks it’ll break today as well :’(

Hi again,

we need an advice about the following food plan for Tangawizi:

1- morning we prepare mixed vegetables & fruits which She barely touch most of the time while in other times she would eat a few.

2-afternoon we add mixed nuts which she likes

3-early we prepare soaked pallets which she eats right away and we feed her using a spoon

4-before bed time we prepare formula 60cc (20g formula & 40g water)

Water is available all the time

Her weight is stable, slightly fluctuating between 889-895g

I’m afraid she doesn’t eat enough for a long time during the morning

I used to do soaked pellets in the morning and then fresh stuff all day.

Your really not pushing for anything right now, your kinda just offering new things to see what she likes. Your weight is going to stay stable unless an illness arises. She will start gaining a bit the next few years from growth and muscle.

By the way.... Your scissor beak is not looking like scissor beak anymore.... Has that corrected itself?

Thanks a lot!
I’ll try pallets in the morning I think it’s better that way.
As for the scissors beak it’s still there but it’s less visible that it used to, we will take her soon for more filing. I have attached a video hope it provides a better view for you.

Yah, it's not bad. I still believe with maintenance and time you can have that more improved. Not that it seems to bother her at all. LOL

I suspect that part of it is that she's a baby and that there's so much more interesting things to see and explore! She's too interested in everything else to eat.

I agree with offering vegetables at a time when she's more inclined to eat.

Hi again,

One thing I learned from Tangawizi is to never stop trying, honestly the determination she got with that tongue of her she will break what ever she sets eyes on even if it took her weeks lol
She’s enjoying flipping on her back a LOT which is the cutest ever, she gets annoyed when my hair gets in her face still not fully weaned oh and and most importantly I found a bobo on her toe! Check the image please :( I attached one more adorable pic of her sleeping on her belly

She’s doesn’t scratch it, plays normally and when I touch it she doesn’t react, so I hope that means it’s not hurting her.

Am I right in thinking she has torn some of the skin back from the nail?

That’s what it looks like. She’s rough when she’s playing in general.

Thinking about it, she’s been playing with her toe nails often lately and this might caused it

But why would she do it? Just exploring and playing?

Yep, just fiddling around, like a human child would. People babies love their toes and have them in their mouth A LOT. Those toes look very interesting to her, so they must have been put there to play with.

Tanga is starting into a molt - no worries. From now on she will molt several times a year -first one section another then another. Feathers all over the place.
