Not a huge deal I suppose, but my six month old cockatiel, Pepper, is going through his first molt, and I am happy to say that his wing that was clipped by the breeder has completely grown back in, and he is loving the freedom to fly properly! My next plan is to train him with the aviator harness so that I can take him outside safely. On another note, as Pepper is a whiteface, I am now certain that he is a boy! His white face feathers are almost completely in now.
Pepper is already quite a talker. He knows how to whistle a few tunes, but seems to prefer speaking. His favorite phrases to say are "step up", "good boy", "gimme kiss", and "I love you." I'm sure this is just the beginning, and he will likely learn many more phrases, since he seems to have a knack for it.
