Screaming would be dreadful, dare I say, especially with kids. Do you think he’d do better as a lone bird again?
My unscientific explanation for why he started screaming here is due to a combination of hormones (I got him right after he turned 1) and having a bird in the same room when he got here. Even though Ripley literally doesn't even acknowledge his existence unless he lands on his cage, he started screaming to say HEY LOOK AT ME! And then Ripley ignored him completely.Screaming would be dreadful, dare I say, especially with kids. Do you think he’d do better as a lone bird again?
He's absolutely adorableI’ve always thought Bosco was just so adorable, and if I could, I’d offer to take him. He would probably fit in with budgies, but that would lead to another ‘love triangle’ that just hasn’t worked for me in the past.
He wasn't noisy like this at all with me. He'd only occasionally and I do mean occasionally scream(if you could even call it that it was basically his what id call laser noise) for about 5 mins on average sometimes a smidge more or less and that was it and it was maybe twice a week if even nothing remotely like this. I'd have never ever asked Shawna to take him in if I'd thought even for a moment that he would be like this. She and I have both had traumatic experiences with screamers in the past and I'd never subject her to that again. I'm absolutely horrified and so guilty to know that he's been making them all so miserable.Does he scream when he's right next to Quibble, or only when Quibble is away from him? Was he this noisy at his first home?
I unknowingly adopted a screamer, , it took him over a year and a few additional linnie friends before he finally stopped. My point for whoever adopts him is that there's hope![]()
Please do not feel that way! This was totally unforseen and no way to predict it. I have zero regretsHe wasn't noisy like this at all with me. you can’t foresee how they will be in another home
You both did what you thought were right at time and are still now
Both of you be kind to yourselves
It's like logically I know that but I just can't help but feel badPlease do not feel that way! This was totally unforseen and no way to predict it. I have zero regrets![]()
Sorry but quibble face is like help usSound on for the sound I'm struggling with. I'm not expecting silence. He makes a lot of adorable chirps, beeps, whistles, and chatter that are totally fine. But this shrill, repetitive noise that I cannot distract him from is the problem:
Oh nooo he never did that here. Nothing close to that, just his laser noise that he'd do but at a slightly louder volume that's all. This is like nails on a chalk board gosh I'm just so sorrySound on for the sound I'm struggling with. I'm not expecting silence. Oh yes he is out right now on a java tree making that noise! Just standing in one spot yelling. I've tried eliminating "sit and scream" spots but he just picks a new spot if I block the old one.Sorry but quibble face is like help us
I can see how that gets too much it’s high pitched
Having lived with a female tiel who screamed constantly I honestly feel your pain
can he get out if he wants to ? Is he just sat in cage door open doing that ?

You'd just think by this point he'd realize he can just fly to Quibble and be next to him. Goodness knows he can fly if he wants too I've seen vid of him zipping around. He's just being so stubborn about itOh yes he is out right now on a java tree making that noise! Just standing in one spot yelling. He's mad because Quibble is with me (by his own free will) and not with him.
They basically have free range from 8am to 6pm every day. Quibble is a much more active bird so he's not interested in being a perch potato.
You definitely haven't done anything wrong,he's got what any parrot would dream of having! He's had more freedom with you then I'd ever be able to give him and when he left that's what he'd been wanting most of all since he'd recently at that point discovered that he could leave the cage and climb around and explore on the outside so being able to be as free as he wants with you should have been the happiest thing for him.I knowthat's why I worry I've done something wrong! Never any blame on you and I know if he was like this at your house things would have worked out differently for sure!
Yes he does fly quite a bit, but usually only if Quibble is also flyingYou'd just think by this point he'd realize he can just fly to Quibble and be next to him. Goodness knows he can fly if he wants too I've seen vid of him zipping around. He's just being so stubborn about it![]()
Wow stubborn does he stop if quibble flys back I really do t know what to suggest because you can’t win either way one little birdie won’t be getting what they need wantOh yes he is out right now on a java tree making that noise! Sometimes, yes, as long as Quibble lands within 6 inches of him it's a good chance. If it's 12+ inches away it's a toss up.Wow stubborn does he stop if quibble flys back I really do t know what to suggest because you can’t win either way one little birdie won’t be getting what they need want
