3 year old Lineolated Parakeet (Michigan, US)

Bosco is a 3 year old cobalt blue DNA male Lineolated Parakeet. He is untame, hand shy, and cage aggressive. He is fully flighted and used to a lot of out of cage time.

He desperately wants another Linnie friend, but unfortunately I am not currently in a position to offer that to him. He does well with other birds his size (he currently shares a cage with a Bourke's), but screams loudly all day if they are not next to him. This screaming is unfortunately causing a lot of stress for our household.

He needs one or more Linnie friends to be with in his new home.

His diet is currently Harrison's Adult Lifetime Fine, fresh veggies, sprouts, and a bit of dry parakeet seed mix. His favorite foods are Harrison's pellets, millet spray, and sweet corn. He will sometimes eat Roudybush crumbles as well, and usually at least tries everything in his bowl. Not big on freeze dried foods or fresh fruit.

He is fully flighted and feathered; no evidence of plucking. He does not really talk but does mimic my other parrots.

His favorite things to play with are sola, balsa, 1/8" thin pine, mahogany fruit pods, natural branches with bark, plastic chains, and bells. He likes to sleep in a tunnel, which I will include.

We love him, but after two years of trying to meet his needs, we just don't think our home is the place he is meant to be. We want him to flourish, not merely survive.

I do have a basic 30x18x18 Yahtech cage and stand with some perches if needed, and some of his favorite toys that he can go home with.

Yall he's really a wonderful little guy,truly one of the best parrots I've ever had. Had my allergies to him not been so debilitatingly severe I'd never have let him go.
I'm so sad that he couldn't settle down with Shawna and her family who have given him exemplary care and love from moment one.
Please someone take a chance on him,he's worth it.

It sucks when things do not work out. My boy Mayhem has been causing a lot of fights with the other birds and I think he would just be better off in a one bird household... Just last night he caused a small injury to Koko in the three seconds when I looked away.. It is hard to admit but sometimes we need to stop thinking about how others may judge us and just do what is best for us and the birds.

They get along great! But unfortunately they want different things out of life. Bosco wants a bird attached at the hip to dote on. Quibble wants to just be friends with birds and people alike. They still share a cage and are buddies.

The screaming is the issue. We either have to endure it for hours, or everyone in the house scrambles to try and see what Bosco needs to stop. Half the time we all just leave the living room and hide in other rooms because we can't handle it and sometimes no matter what you do he just won't stop.

I unknowingly adopted a screamer, , it took him over a year and a few additional linnie friends before he finally stopped. My point for whoever adopts him is that there's hope

This sounds so much like our brotogeris Alistair. We had decided that we really needed to look for another one when someone contacted me out of the blue on facebook (from a brotogeris group) because she needed to rehome her brotogeris Gertie and their cockatiel Smokey because Gertie was clearly unhappy and was dependent on Smokey, who just wanted to hang with the people. We lucked out because Gertie and our girl Alistair bonded and are now besties who match energy way better with each other than any of our other birds, and Smokey is just a happy guy who likes everyone. Before that, my god, the screaming.

He was not noisy at all in his first home as a single bird.

His screaming is often triggered by Quibble being more than 6 inches from him, but that is not the only time.

He's been here two years. In some ways the screaming has been better with Quibble here (who's been here about a year now himself) but it's gotten worse in other ways.
