I am a newly parent of a 3.5 months old sun conure. It is parent fed and has never been in touch with human. I have been spending time infront of the cage, talking and calling its name. i fed him once from my hand the spray millet (not from palm, i was holding the millet), that day i open his cage door and he came out. I got nervous when he was walking around, i tried holding him gently and on the 3rd attempt i did, i could pat his head and he was fine. I put my finger in front of him 2/3 times just so he can recognise my skin but he bit it hard. I quickly put him to cage because he was not letting go, it had the lower beak into my index finger skin and after few more seconds of trying to take the finger out it let go puncturing a little hole. I am worried i have lost the little trust/comfort that was developed in few days, because i tried to touch him, he is ok to be beside me in the cage but i saw his quivering wings (which i later googled for nervousness or fear). i have never had birds before, total clueless. he only takes one bite of apple/capsicum or broccoli i gave him, ate the millet spray only when i left it on the cage side (not when i was holding it). Any kind of suggestion or to do would be immensely helpful. I didnt find much for beginner like me and a parent fed sun conures who needs to be trained from zero.
