I have a 10 week old quaker.
She's already talking but she's also using her bird vocalizations "VERY LOUD"...
is this normal and will it get worse or better with time?
No I don't respond to any screams but she does say words that I respond to.
Then AFTER I respond she screams. Lol

I've been around older Quakers who unless they are talking are generally pretty quiet except in the morning and evening.

I mean Pickles puts a sun conure to shame,
And keiko, my sun is pretty quiet.

Pickles was listening before if I or someone else was speaking.

Now she screams..?
I've never had a young quaker and I've done a lot to keep her alive and deal with ailments she was born with and am hoping this is a phase.

Please, any advice or knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

If I understand you correctly, she isn't loud when she talks only when she Quaker calls?

No..
She is also making loud noise in between her words or yelling words, a lot.
She also screams now when I repeat her words to her.
Before she would listen to me talk.

Quakers are loud, she is just testing her voice. ;)

Puffy is quiet as a mouse 99 % of the day. But during that 1% of loudness, he'll peel the paint off the walls and make your ears bleed. Just do what you can to not encourage or make a game out of it.

Or maybe have something like sunflower seeds handy for when Pickles uses a "quiet" voice - compliment her on "quiet voice", give her praise and a sunflower seed. If she yells, walk away.

Both of my quakers are quite loud. Jingo rivaled my Hahms macaw

Phoenix is fairly quiet. He will make the odd loud noise but for the most part I have to get close to him to hear him over the dogs.
Does anybody else have a quiet quaker? (Phoenix is about a year old)

I fostered a Quaker once and it was the loudest little bird I ever knew.

Try this -
- but crank it up before you do. Quiet they aren't thought some can be. My first one, Kiwi, was quiet but she was an only bird for a year and then had a tiel as a companion.

And this is the author of the ballad -https://Stephen Carl Baldwin - YouTube - you should check out his FB page.

My friend's Quaker is super loud on a regular basis. It's usually whenever he's playing or getting into one of his chatty moods where he'll talk and also make a lot of different noises.

I think along with loud, Quakers have that irritating kind of voice. At least I find it's like fingernails on a chalkboard.

Their voice is one reason I never really looked into them. Loud for me is fine.... But their call curls my hair! :p

That's the reality of owning a parrot ;) Make sure you're not inadvertently reinforcing it.

10 weeks is young. Are the screams to be handfed?

Ralph says that he resents having his voice called irritating. ;) He's actually a pretty quiet Quaker.

Loud for me is fine....
That's a good thing for anyone who lives with a large Macaw. They're usually pretty good at cranking up the volume. :D

Oh, absolutely.
My boy has a great deal of fun screaming and screeching all throughout the day. He spits in some learned words here and there, but Quakers are generally just quite loud birds!
Think of it as them getting their energy out. It's entirely natural and you shouldn't be alarmed. :)
Just don't reinforce it and you should be okay. ; v ;

My Ivy is very quite. She screams about 3 minutes straight when I first uncover her in the morning. She will scream during the day if Tyson, my boxer, comes toward her cage or my 3 year old is being extremely loud. I believe they are having a loudest noise competition.

Was wondering if she was properly weaned? Did the force wean or let her decide when to stop? I always let mine decide. Maybe you need to feed her some warm foods? I have just one in the house and he rarely screams.
