I have a cockatiel that is 25+ yrs. old who is developing cataracts.
by reading the thread, I understand that the eyes are too small to operate on but there may be a solution to put on the eyes that will break up the deposits.
Has anyone tried this product called Lumen pro or Lanomax on their birds?
Thanks.

Welcome!

I have never known of anyone to use them, I would suggest looking for reviews online and a lot more information on them before you go that route. I will say that there is a lot you can do without buying eye drops. Adjustments in the diet will go a long way in helping. Almost every vitamin is linked to the eyes. Here are some examples for you to read.

Check this one out, they use B2 (riboflavin) drops and UVA light for strengthening the cornea.

Good luck and if you do decide to do the Lumen pro or Lanomax please let us all know how it went.

Thank you, in the meantime, I will enhance his vitamin intake with what I have learned so far.

Welcome. Have you talked to a vet?

The info about the eyes being too small to operate on came from a vet.
Did you ask the vet about the drops? I wouldn't put anything in a bird's eyes without discussing with a vet first.
