I want to adopt, but I'm a minor

I've done the research and I'm almost positive I want to adopt (I don't know if I can right this second). The only downside is that I'm under eighteen and I don't know if I can adopt because of that. The shelters near me require at least over eighteen and I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?

Hello, I am in Australia and I read in another thread we won't be able to get Java wood here. I am wondering what any alternatives would be and where to find nice branches? I was thinking Gumtree/Eucalyptus wood but not sure where to get it. Thanks

    Questions on Combining Traits

Hello! I know that in Green Cheek conures, the Yellow-sided mutation and the cinnamon mutation are both sex-linked. When they combine, a pineapple is produced. How does a female green cheek show multiple mutations together when she only has one 'Z' available? And how can a normal-looking bird be...

    My bird wont eat

I got my bird from the shelter about a day and a half ago and she hasn't eaten since then. I put some millet and some yogurt bird treats to try to entice her but she hasn't really eaten it. I'm getting worried and I'm wondering if anyone has any tips on getting parakeets to eat.

Meet pip. She is small and sweet and is starting to come out of her shell. She loves looking at herself in the mirror and is very beautiful. This is my first parakeet and I absolutely love her.

    Hi! I am new here!

Hi! My name is Ella. I am not a bird owner, but I came here to learn more about them, because I am a bird enthusiast! So far, my favorite birds are Budgies, Parrotlets, and Indian Ringnecks. I am hoping to get one or two (or 3+) in the future. :)

    Are we bonded?

How do I know if my bird is bonded with me? I like to think he is, but I worry that its only because I'm the main person in his life, and I'm not sure if he's actually bonded to me. What are some ways I can tell if he is or not? (pictures for fun :)

    Bird Meetup Groups

Does anyone know of any Bird Meetup Groups around the Charlotte area? I've been looking for one but have had no luck! Also if there isn't one and I want to start one, what would be a good way to go about that? Thank you!
