I know I'm the only Hawaii member on here, but do any of you guys know of any Linnie breeders in Hawaii?
I had attempted to locate one a while back and had joined the Linnie forum, but it was kind of a dead end. I forgot who we had contacted, we we were told that there are only TWO Linnie breeders on my island - one may have stopped breeding and the other only sells to pet stores on the mainland and not to individuals. We were also able to get in touch with a breeder on another island, who had one baby available at the time, but I felt REALLY uneasy about buying a bird sight-unseen from a breeder that has no credentials/reputation I can look up.
For you guys that are Linnie breeders here (if any), do you know of anyone in Hawaii? If not, who would you recommend on the mainland (that will ship)? If I'm going to buy a baby without seeing it, I need to know it's coming from a good breeder. When I was doing my own research, it seemed like Desert Rainbow Linnies was the best but I hear they've stopped breeding.
This isn't for anytime soon... for the HOPEFULLY far future, but I'd like to get a feel of if there are any good places out there that produce Linnies. If I could find a breeder on O'ahu, all the better.
For some reason, with Mika's 10th birthday coming up in September, I have these passing uncontrollable thoughts of "his time to go". He SHOULD be around for roughly another 10 years, as well-cared for lovebirds can live roughly 20 years, but you never know. I love Mika more than life itself - I wish he'd be with me forever - but I'm just not sure I can have another lovebird after him, so I'm looking to Linnies for when the time comes.
