I didn't get a picture of Zira with the toy before she partially dismantled it,
but wanted to mention that squeakers are really dangerous (everyone probably knows that) as
well as any type of plastic.
When we first got Zira, 3 1/2 years ago (she was 6 months), she was so hyper, and destroyed EVERYTHING,
that I let her chew on anything.
Anything I didn't want, that is. I was incredibly lucky.
She chewed on rocks!
She loved almost empty milk jugs, carried them around they yard and finally ripped
the plastic gallon jug to bits.
Toys, even rope toys, canvas toys, rawhide lasted a minute, chunks of wood,
in fact her living room toy box is full of shredded toys......and the box (a plastic bin) has
missing corners.
Well, a friend has a Golden who wallowed a bit of a plastic lid at about 7 months old,
the plastic became stuck and infected, and the puppy nearly died....twice.
THAT made me take away all plastic, be concerned about other possibilities.
So anyway, I bought a jar of toys at Walmart, for Christmas.
A small rope toy for my friend's Pappillion, a long fuzzy toy, a rubber bone, a
tennis ball and a small stuffed penguin.
I gave her the penguin, then took it back. There was a squeaker. I cut the toy open, took out the squeaker, then realixzed it was stuffed with fiber fill and took that out, too.
I refilled the penquin with white tissue and newspaper stock (is that what its called? The paper newspaper
is print on?) and a piece of a washcloth Zira had stolen and ripped., sewed the toy back up.
She ripped off his "top hat and scarf (made of felt) but hasn't made a hole yet!
Zira as a puppy:
And as usual, still at 4 years old, destroying something~
