Pictures Zephyrs first bright red feather!

My crimson belly conure Zephyr is nine months old now and is going through a bit of a molt, which means he’s finally getting his signature crimson belly in as well as more blues. Can’t wait for his flight feathers to finally come back in as well.

Enjoy his new look! I have a little jar where I collect these little red feathers from my crimson (I also find it super cool that not the entire feather is red, as the base is white). :-D

Got a slightly better photo, and even more feathers seem to be coming in. The lighting in the bathroom is the best... So while it's an odd place I won't complain. At least till I get a harness and train him and can take some pretty outdoor photos.

Maybe I'll take a photo monthly till his adult plumage is in, I always thought CBC's color transformation was one of the most interesting; so many different colors that don't show till adulthood, even the subtle blues around the head.

It would be awesome if you took pictures of his progress and shared them! I've never seen them molt out into their final colors before. He's one handsome little boy!
