Quiverful
Life is a gift:)
Please join me in Congratulating George (Kayaker) as our 53rd Avenue Spotlight Award Winner!
Here is what Sandra had to say about George:
I'd like to pass the Avenue Spotlight baton (if you will) to Kayaker. He is one of the few AA members I've met and his dedication to birds of every shape and size is admirable. I first met him at Dr. Scott McDonald's office but had also run into him at the Rolling Meadows Bird Fair (Illinois). He was the adoption chair for the GCCBC (Greater Chicago Caged Bird Club), recently helped with a hoarder rescue situation but is also dedicated to helping foster/rescue or find homes for as many birds as he can physically and financially afford to do. He recently started his own non-profit rescue locally; I've met some of his fosters and I just wish I had the self-confidence to take on the "bigguns". He is what I'd like to be when I grow up (I'm 58) and I can only wish there were more people like him in a world in which so many "pet" birds seem to be always looking for a new "forever" home.
Congratulations, George!
