Are these the iguanas that fell out of trees in the winter, frozen? I guess they made it after all.
Are the birds' cages secure so that these lizards cannot get in? You almost have to have double sides with a space between.
If it is not hawks, it is lizards..life in paradise is not always easy.

Yes, it was raining lizards last January. You are absoulely correct; when the temperature drops to below 50 as it did last winter, the reptilian lizards became immobile and dropped from their homes in palm trees. I must have had 50 lizards and then the vultures arrived. It was not a pretty sight. This guy grew this much since the winter. He'll be doubly big next year. Had several 5 footers. Lizards are mostly herivores. I have to really watch their tails as they whip them, Could kill my pets in a second, that is why I spent a fortune on the special outdoor cages and the protective metal sheeting for the bottom of the indoor aviary.

That's worse than I thought. I had no idea they are 5 feet:eek:
I am glad your pets are protected.
They said the pythons did not survive the winter. I am wondering now if that is true?

Daria, looks like an adult female green iguana! I'd love to catch it & remove it if I can tomorrow for you. I'd build it a nice pen in my back property
